Living at college is an experience. I have to do my own laundry now, I have to make or find dinner all the time, I have to deal with my computer when it crashes... and worst of all, my dad and my brother aren't around to kill spiders for me.
But life in a dorm isn't all that bad. I'm on the 9th floor of my building. I live in a double with my awesome roommate Julie (Jules) who is also my best friend here. Somehow we ended up being randomly placed together as freshmen. Lucky huh? Yeah I think so too.
Our room is rather small, but we've done a pretty good job with it. We have a TV, VCR, stereo system, 2 DVD players (on our computers) and a futon. It's a really nice room. We also have a hamster named Jinx and a fish named Pete. That's our "Don't drink and dress" poster in the picture on the lower right, and our bottle cap spiral in the upper right.
I've tried to get somewhat involved on campus. I'm a member of the pep band (stop laughing already), the executive photo editor at the Campus Times, and a Meridian (tour guide). Doesn't really sound like much, but it takes up enough of my time.
Jules is in the orchestra here (she's a really really good flutist). We both take private lessons over at Eastman with our teacher Donna, who is about as ridiculous as we are sometimes. Jules is going to major in poli sci and minor in music.
We're a little too alike sometimes for our own good. But at the same time, we're nothing alike. The name thing is kind of annoying... I get called Julie a lot.
Jules is pretty much the reason that I am the way I am now... it's all her fault. Partying and clubbing were unknown to me before I came here. I think that we scare people with our sense of humor. It just doesn't make sense to anyone else, but it's damn funny to us.
Jules is dating Pete, the guy in the upside down pic. He's cool. He's almost as strange as we are. It makes for an interesting conversation when he's around. But it's fun.
As for other friends here, I know a bunch of people on my floor (the Music Interest Floor a.k.a MIF). There's a pic of Evan on the Straight Up page... I really need to get other pics up here of everyone. Time for a new page I guess.
I'll have to get to that sometime soon.
